Leadership Luncheon with Steve Dickie
Better Together Leadership
The Newton Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Council is proud to announce Steve Dickie as the next speaker for their upcoming Leadership Luncheon, being held on Wednesday, May 23rd from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm at the Meridian Center. The cost to attend this event will be $15 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. The registration deadline will be Wednesday, May 16th. Success and significance in leadership begins with and is ultimately sustained by the ability to understand and manage our self. In other words, the greatest investment any leader can make is to pay attention to who they are on the inside. Steve's presentation will make you smile, challenge your perspective and inspire you to new ways of doing things. You'll appreciate his keen sense of humor and ability to weave practical insight, his own life experiences into leadership principles that can impact both your workplace and everyday living. Here’s a little bit of information about our Leadership Luncheon's speaker, Steve Dickie.
Steve Dickie is the founder and Executive Director of the CharacterWorks Group, a non-profit
organization that coaches’ leadership from the inside out. Steve is also the Character Development Coach for the Wichita State Shockers Men’s Basketball team. He has served in Coach Gregg Marshall’s program for 7 years and been an important component in seasons that have included 7 straight invitations to the NCAA tournament, 4 Missouri Valley Conference Championships, a trip to the Final Four in 2013, a record breaking run to 35 straight victories and undefeated regular season in 2014, a run to the Sweet Sixteen in 2015 and multiple tournament wins in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Steve has been featured on ESPN and written about in Sports Illustrated and several national and regional publications including the Wichita Eagle, Kansas City Star, Saint Louis Post-Dispatch and the Kansas Leadership Journal.
Originally from Southern California, Steve graduated from California State University, Fullerton and has worked with students, adults and families for over 30 years in California and Kansas. Steve is the author of 6 books and numerous periodicals and has been a popular speaker at conferences, churches, schools and universities, as well as business, leadership and community groups.
Steve is passionate about creative leadership, discovering the simple in the abstract, exploring new ways to do old things, empowering the extraordinary out of the ordinary and helping people align their abilities and talents with a purpose bigger than themselves.... More >><< Less
