If you are a downtown business, it's time to start brainstorming for your window display for this year's Deck Downtown! This event takes place at the beginning of December, where downtown businesses can enter a window decorating contest to compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes in both a People's Choice and a Judge's Choice category!

Since downtown Newton is the heart of our community, we want to make it a destination – a special place to shop, eat, and enjoy – during the holiday season. After the winners are announced, businesses can keep their decorations through the Christmas holiday. This helps brighten up main street and add a special holiday feel to our community!

People's Choice voting is open to the public and will run from December 5th-15th. Community members will be able to vote in-person at voting boxes at each location or via an online form that will be released starting on Dec. 5th. Our judges will score each display based on specific scoring criteria during that time as well. The winners will be announced the week of December 15th.

The traveling trophies from last year’s competition are currently displayed at the winning locations: Bella Veil Bridal (1st Place Judge’s Choice) and Rohr Jewelry (1st Place People’s Choice). Be sure to look for their trophies when you visit! At the end of this year’s competition, the trophies will be awarded to the 2024 winners.

The deadline to sign up to participate is Tuesday, December 3rd. All downtown businesses, members and non-members alike, are encouraged and welcome to participate. There is no buy-in required. Windows should be decorated and ready for voting by December 5th.
